From realism to impressionism to explorations of expressionism, Ellen Pavlakos works in clay, plaster, stone, and other contemporary materials, casting most of her work in bronze.

The figure is her vehicle of expression. There is a continuing thread of concern with human emotions through most of her work. Through a link to the classical Greek, a positive feeling of the human experience and glorification of life communicates directly to the viewer.
